Position Overview:

The Novelis Global Metals Procurement team seeks a Sr. Global Metal Analyst to develop reporting and market analysis to aid metal procurement execution and strategic direction. The analyst will lead the development, enhancement, and streamlining of reports and reporting processes, and work with our global resources to provide market and industry insights. This work will be instrumental in providing our senior leadership with key insights into metal procurement performance as well as global metal market updates. Additionally, the work will help set strategic direction for our metal procurement organization.

The position reports to the Sr. Manager Global Metal - Recycling but will regularly engage regional metal teams and global and regional FP&A teams. This position will work across multiple functions and regions.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of metal buying and management tools to maximize global metal benefit and while optimizing carbon reduction
  • Lead the development & management of external and internal market data feeds into the global metal database
  • Lead collaborative efforts with regional and global metal, FP&A, supply chain, SQRM, digital, & DAP to develop metal procurement dashboards and reports that support buying execution along with metal benefit, supply chain optimization, and sustainability.
  • Facilitate management decisions for strategic focus and investment through the development of fact-based market analysis including market drivers, competitive outline, and opportunities and risks across global metal markets.
  • Advance Novelis' ability to navigate and optimize metal procurement by creating & presenting to management succinct market updates that provides current and forecast metal market views based on real- & near-time market intel.
  • Work in collaboration with regional & global experts and leaders to develop metal procurement strategies across all metal markets.
  • Develop and present to Novelis leadership as needed ad-hoc models and reports within standard Novelis utilized applications to provide summary views of recycling operations performance, metal procurement performance, performance gaps, and opportunities.
  • Additional responsibilities, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or another analytical field
  • 5+ years' experience in a role providing detailed analysis.
  • Possess advanced Excel skills, robust analytical, inquisitive, problem solving and creative thinking abilities.
  • Experience with using PowerBI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools to draw conclusions and help support business decisions.
  • Ability to consolidate large amounts of data from various sources into presentable fact-based presentations and to deliver to peers, managers, and executive leadership.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across geographies and functions to obtain needed information and be viewed as a trusted resource.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of SAP Hyperion would be helpful but is not necessary.
  • Metals, manufacturing industry, or similar experience would be helpful but is not necessary.
