General Summary & Duties

Under the general direction of Quality and Patient Experience (QPE) clinical and administrative leadership, the Sr. Financial Analyst will help build and track department budgets, expenses, and help steward funding paid out to MGB sites.

  • Analyze relevant cost center information and update internal financial reports for the Quality and Patient Experience Department (QPE), which includes detailed cost center review of Vision system to ensure financial accuracy
  • Produce, analyze and distribute monthly financial reports for QPE cost centers
  • Work with business owners to forecast year-end projections and ascertain surplus funding available
  • Facilitate leadership discussion about how to prioritize surplus spend
  • Assist QPE Leaders in interpreting financial data and help answer related financial questions
  • Work closely with cost center managers to ensure all budget data are entered, submitted and validated according to given budget guidelines
  • Support budget preparation including expense trend analysis by account type for salary and non-salary expenses and new initiative analyses
  • Coordinate annual budget process with the budget office to accomplish all budget requirements.
  • Support Central Finance Team, QPE Leaders and MGB Budget Office in the development of annual budgets, tracking of FTEs and entering of budget data into Hyperion.
  • Provide accounting support for QPE Community Health fundraising efforts
  • Support and enhance the multi-year budgeting forecasting process and model to help inform/feed into the Mass General Brigham Central forecast model
  • Support revenue generation opportunities to bill for collaborative care and SUD bridge clinic operations to offset the cost of the program.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as needed
  • Assist in processing invoices and resolving outstanding invoices issues.
  • Act as liaison between QPE and MGB Budget and Accounting offices.
  • Work independently on internal inquiries and ad hoc projects as necessary.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 5 years budgeting or accounting experience required
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Experience with data bases and Hyperion and/or Vision preferred A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements
