Job Summary
The Senior Director of Market Access Marketing oversees the U.S. Market Access Marketing Team and is responsible for leading and delivering the strategy development, with portfolio approaches, to our market access customers. This includes a "One Otsuka" corporate approach to existing and emerging channels, bridging early product development with market access strategies and is accountable for all brand/payer related initiatives for the CNS, Nephrology & Digital Health portfolios which requires cross-functional collaboration with the associated brand teams. This role will report to the Vice President, Market Access.
Job Description
This is a highly visible leadership position within the Market Access Team. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to building core strategic market access elements for successful launches and brand life cycle management. The position will also include business development evaluations.
The role will require cross-functional and organizational leadership to effectively develop and execute the market access strategy, and effectively monitor and evaluate performance.
This position will partner closely with all brand marketing teams, field sales leadership, Customer Insight and Business Analytics, Medical Affairs / MMLs, Training and Development, HEOR, and government and must be responsible for consistently monitoring payer contract performance and expense budgets to maximize product contribution.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Managing and developing a team of direct reports
- Develop and lead the CNS, Nephrology and Digital Health's portfolio approach to market access customers
- Lead the team to develop and implement CNS, Nephrology and Digital Health's: payer pull-through strategies and materials, value propositions for each inline brand, portfolio value propositions for market access customers
- Collaborate with commercial team to ensure payer value drivers are incorporated into all payer marketing initiatives
- Continually evaluate Market Access strategies for early development by partnering with Medical Affairs and Health Outcomes while effectively bridging them to inline marketing support
- Lead the development and maintenance of the value message platform for each brand within Otsuka's marketed products
- Direct brand specific payer/advocacy market research activities
- Manage Payer Marketing Brand budget resources
- Lead market access channel assessments and build recommendations on the best way to approach our existing channels
- Lead the assessment and development of new channel enhancement
- Manages key Agencies of Record to deliver tools and tactics
- Works closely with the Sr Director of Global Market Access to ensure early commercialization work is informed by the changing US landscape and market dynamics
- Collaborates closely with the CNS, Nephrology and Digital Health brand teams
- Core team member of strategic asset planning process ensuring market access lens is applied to the planning process
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, MBA or Master's Degree preferred
- 10+ years business experience in the healthcare, device or pharmaceutical/biotech industry with 5+ years in reimbursement and/or marketing
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in a heavily matrixed environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix team environment
- Excellent planning and strategy development while executing against tight timelines
