Your Role & Responsibilities

  • SUMMARY: Plan, schedule, and execute embedded controls hardware, firmware, application software and software engineering related activities for ICE, Hybrid and BEV projects. The successful candidate will be capable and self-motivated to deliver complete high quality solutions, including requirements definition to concept design, though development verification and testing to final validation.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead, plan and support control system development activities
  • Lead and/or support sub-system, system, HIL, dyno, and vehicle level integration activities
  • Develop and implement HIL, SIL, MIL, PIL testing
  • Prepare requirements documentation, technical reports, papers and presentations
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams
  • Ability to adapt, integrate and work well with others is essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Self-motivated with the drive to deliver high quality work within target timing
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints, as part of a team or individually
  • Generate and review project proposals and participate in business development activities when required
  • Analyze technology trends, and market demands to contribute to the strategic business plan and to individual projects
  • Maintain a specialist working knowledge of new technologies as appropriate to the role
  • Mentor junior engineers to assist in their technical career development
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations. Must act safely and be responsible for the safety of others around the work area
  • Maintain awareness of and meet the requirements of the Company Quality System.
  • Flexibility with working hours including weekends and willingness to travel to customer sites for both long and short durations (including secondments)
  • Employee duties are not limited to those stated above, but are inclusive of any tasks assigned by supervisor/manager


Your Skills & Strengths
  • Bachelors Degree in related field is Required; Maters Degree is Preferred
  • 3 or more years of powertrain experience developing Software using C and Mathworks suite of tools for engine controls is Required
  • Experience with internal combustion engine and hybrid controls
  • Working experience and knowledge of OBDII regulations and requirements
  • Demonstrated experience developing embedded hardware, firmware, and software in C, MATLAB for Engine Controls is Required
  • Experience leading application development, and software release activities is Required
  • Experience leading/supporting test and integration activities on HIL, DYNO, and vehicle is Required
  • Experience conducting and / or participating in design/architecture reviews is Required
  • Experience generating AUTOCODE using Embedded Coder or TargetLink is Required
  • Experience with calibration activities and calibration tools
  • Experience with Simulink code generation tools/target language compiler
  • Experience working with automotive communication and diagnostics protocols
  • Experience with Vector CAN tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, etc.
  • Experience working with dSPACE suite of tools for HIL and TargetLink
  • Experience with DFMEA development process
  • Experience with Ford process is beneficial
