General Summary

An exciting opportunity to work with Senior Leaders and Teams across the Mass General Brigham hospital system to evaluate and contract with software vendors that are in line with our mission to deliver outstanding medical care to our patients. Reporting directly to the Corporate Manager of Non-Clinical Contracts, the Senior Contract Manager/Software handles a portfolio of software contracts, identifies and negotiates savings opportunities, provides software contracting and risk mitigation expertise to support software solution vendor selection, contracting and vendor management. The Sr. Contract Manager advises operational development and implementation of system-wide strategies to increase contract participation, set goals, objectives and overall direction of the services provided by Supply Chain. This position is temporarily remote with travel to Mass General Brigham sites as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and handle hospital and enterprise-wide agreements with software/SaaS and professional services vendors ensuring timely, accurate and market-competitive rates
  • Provide contracting support to end users for technology solutions, including analysis of capital and operating budget impact, technology solution functionality and its application to the business, and analyses of competitive or similar products in the marketplace or in the organization.
  • Serve on and lead committees relating to the service line and acts as a liaison for those needing assistance within Supply Chain.
  • Respond to all questions related to the service line in a prompt & professional manner and in accordance with departmental service level expectations.
  • Identify and lead organizational change initiatives within the department and throughout the organization.
  • Build strategies to reach contract and savings objectives
  • Intervene and resolve problems, delays, and evaluation concerns.
  • Participate in project evaluation, market analyses, contract negotiation and contract execution.
  • Deliver savings, risk mitigation, and operational efficiencies as a result of successful contract negotiations with vendors
  • Maintain enterprise software license and maintenance agreements with vendors
  • Draft and revise a variety of contracts
  • Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained
  • Meet with business owners to discuss both legal and business matters
  • Provide advice and mentorship to the different teams relating to contract generation
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with business owners
  • Build, prepare, review, redline, and sign all contracts
  • Find opportunities to improve business processes and/or savings opportunities and devise plans to implement these changes
  • Seek opportunities to consolidate vendors, lower costs and improve operational efficiency
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technology developments and industry standard methodologies.
  • Participate in RFP evaluation, market analyses, contract negotiation and contract execution
  • Work closely with members of finance, IT, legal, Compliance, Business Owners, other Contracting departments
  • Develop and maintain relationships with software vendors
  • Participate on procurement related committees and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications
Qualifications
  • 10 + years of experience in a contracting role with a focus on strategic contracting with software vendors
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Strong understanding of contractual language addressing areas of risk to include: PHI, PI, intellectual property rights, copyright issues, and compliance
  • Experience working in fast-paced environment and handling a high volume of work optimally
  • Accountable, self-driven and responsible individual who thrives in a team environment
  • Proven track record to identify and lead critical initiatives
  • Experience negotiating with technology and software vendors.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and sourcing, contract negotiations, cost savings, vendor management, and customer relations
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with shifting deadlines
  • Must have strong digital literacy and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exemplify creative problem solving abilities
