In partnership with the executive leadership team of Customer Experience, the Sr. AD, Commercial Business Project Management will execute key strategic and operational business initiatives, aligning strategy with the portfolio of initiatives and have Business Manager accountabilities to the Head of CX. Focus areas include, but are not limited to\: providing thought-leadership support to the leaders of the leadership team; leading critical business unit and US-level analyses and insights; developing strategic presentations for business reviews and meetings; and facilitating strategic meetings, including customer-facing interactions, organizing and conducting leadership meetings, tracking financial metrics and communicating the vision and strategy of the business through business steering.

In addition, the Senior Associate Director of Commercial Business Project Management will be responsible and accountable for large scale strategic projects within the Commercial Business.

  • Product launch
  • Organizational design
  • Process engineering & optimization
  • Capability enhancement/expansion
  • Sales & Marketing Systems Implementations
  • Analysis/benchmarking

The Senior Associate Director fosters ongoing relationships with engagement sponsors and business leads, planning for and scoping project opportunities, advising on solutions to key business problems, and effectively managing assigned projects to ensure successful completion and sponsor satisfaction. Specific areas of focus include accountability for on time and on budget completion of selected BIAH projects by interacting across national or global functional teams.

Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to the following essential job functions\:

  • Leads the identification and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards in order to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful project delivery
  • Defines, manages and directs the needed end-to-end PMO work effort, which includes leveraging best practices and techniques in identifying, quantifying and tracking the realization of expected benefits defined in business cases
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates opportunities to improve the project management best practices in order to achieve higher maturity in PPM
  • Responsible and Accountable for Project Portfolio Management and alignment and communication with global Customer Experience and IT on US Animal Health priorities

Duties & Responsibilities\:

  • Leadership
    • Organize and direct project management teams that support the delivery of key strategic initiatives for the Animal Health Commercial Business
    • Influence key business and IT stakeholders to follow established project management methodology
    • Pro-actively identify business problems, analyze the issues and environment and provide recommendations
    • Identify and deploy optimal resource allocation for successful project delivery including budget management, consulting resources, and third party vendors
    • Recognize project teams and individuals for achievements
    • Influence stakeholders and business partners to support vision and solutions for team
  • Business Planning
    • Leads for managing the annual operational and business planning processes for US Customer Experience
    • Establish a consistent, repeatable business planning process for tracking strategy execution progress
    • Leads coordination and preparation of Annual Discussion, Annual Business Review and US and global meetings
    • Partner with the Leadership Team to develop understanding and data on market dynamics (e.g., competitors, customers, technology), and identifies trends and market opportunities
  • Strategic Direction Setting & Execution
    • Advise and support the Customer Experience Leadership team with regard to defining strategic and operational direction across the portfolio to achieve priorities and financial targets
    • Drive, measure and communicate organizational initiatives
    • Develops and monitors functional KPIs
  • Business Subject Matter Expert
    • Work with business, global and IT partners to develop and align strategies and key objectives. Leverage this alignment in the development of program road map development and project delivery
    • Communicate commercial business strategy to US Customer Experience team and work with teams to align resources to delivery key objectives
    • Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities to advance achievement of commercial objectives.
    • Work across CX teams to ensure stakeholder understanding of tools and resources available to drive successful outcomes
  • Communication
    • Organize and lead meetings to ensure effective communication of project vision, objectives and information to enable successful project delivery
    • Create a culture of open, transparent communication across project teams
    • Communicate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups including leveraging skills of influence and engagement to drive alignment across the US Commercial, Global CX and IT organizations
    • Collaborate with peers to drive a shared approach for program and project leadership
  • Commercial Project Management
    • Manage high profile projects that drive significant sales growth or expense savings across business units. Responsible for the identification and delivery of project objectives and ensure stakeholder alignment and support of these objectives

Requirements\:

  • Bachelors' Degree from an accredited institution in Business, Marketing, Finance, Computer Science or related field.
  • A Master's Degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • At least eight (8) years of Animal Health industry knowledge (e.g. Consulting, marketing/sales, product development, business development), including leading others.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in the Animal Health industry, project management, commercial support or direct customer business experience.
  • Requires a high level of understanding of the Legal Environment, Risk, Competitors, and the National/Regional/Local Markets for the assignment Commercial business areas. Contributes to the development of strategic business plans to achieve functional/business objectives.
  • Leads projects focused on the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems across the species. Resolves complex problems that have implications throughout the USAH organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas, facts, and technical information to senior management, as well as other internal customers both verbally and written.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to work with other disciplines.
  • Management consulting experience preferred.
  • Models willingness to learn and stay up-to-date.
  • Ability to train user groups and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and coordinate efforts with colleagues from several functional areas.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in the fast paced environment.
  • History of successful performance.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnight travel).

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
