Overview:

Gibbs & Cox, Inc. is the nation's leading independent maritime services, naval architecture, marine engineering, and design firm. We are seeking a well-qualified individual for a position as the company's Solution Architect Department Manager, based in any office, but the Arlington, VA office is preferred.

You must be a United States citizen with a Secret Clearance to qualify.

Responsibilities:

G&C is seeking a Solution Architect Department Manager that is a qualified, energetic leader to lead the solution development of autonomous systems and associated payload subsystems, and integration of those systems with other manned and unmanned maritime platforms. Current and future projects span concept developed through prototype development and production of small, medium and large unmanned surface vessels.

The successful candidate for Solution Architect Department Manager must be an individual that possesses the following attributes:

  • Leadership with great communication skills
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of solutions architects as assigned
  • Serve as member of a leadership team leading where you will collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, agile delivery teams and other architects
  • In coordination with program teams, identify technology and solution roadmaps to improve mission autonomous system capabilities resulting in increased contract growth and improved customer satisfaction
  • Assess and mentor the technical talent and solution architects in the organization to meet the current and future (new market) business challenges.
  • Help build, manage and mentor multi-disciplined teams executing Agile and DevSecOps processes using best-of-breed tools
  • Strengthen existing programs and with application of technology and/or innovation by working with peer Operations teams, Group CTOs, and other Leidos Groups and by leveraging known technology and solutions on current programs and new business pursuits.


Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree degree in Information Systems, Cyber Security, or other STEM disciplines with 15+ years of experience related to IT and/or systems engineering.
  • Strong technical breadth and depth in support of the government markets and in particular in government network design, implementation, operations, and modernization.
  • Experienced professional in contract performance with demonstrated technical leadership and customer relationship building
  • Experience as a solution architect and/or technical volume lead on captures and proposals
  • Understands competitor/teammate technology offerings
  • Ability to assess, identify, recruit and retain talent to grow technical expertise on current programs and build talent for future program proposals and execution in a large organization. Person must be able to work in collaboration across the corporation and with other internal CTOs leveraging contacts to obtain in-house skills when available and provide rotational opportunities for key technical resources to continue technology exchange and enhancements.
  • Ability to author, present, and articulate problem sets and associated solution elements in settings supporting customers, business development, program delivery, technical teams, and executives.
