The objective of the Software Engineer I is to complete software development assignments which include Research and Analysis, Design and Prototyping, Development, Integration and Testing, Implementation, and Maintenance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders
  
• Interface with technical personnel and customers to finalize requirements
  
• Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs
  
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity
  
• Successfully implement development processes including coding best practices, code reviews, integration and testing, and release
  
• Resolve technical issues including defect resolution
  
• Identify automation opportunities including implementation of automated test cases
  
• Keep abreast of new technology developments
  
• Other duties as assigned
  

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Minimum of 1 year of software development experience
  
• BS Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Proficient with one or more software programming languages, libraries, and/or techniques

• Understanding of data modeling principles and ability to work with moderately complex data models and data manipulation languages
  
• Ability to implement moderately complex bug fixes
  
• Proficient with ServiceNow administrative functions
  
• Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  
• Knowledge of test-driven development
  
• Familiarity of industry best practices
  
• Good oral and written communications skills
