Software Development Engineer IIPortland, OR or Seattle, WA

Primary Job Purpose

This position provides technical, interpersonal and administrative skills in performing day to day work.

On this team you will be working with a wide range of technologies including:

• C#/.NET Core, RESTful Microservices, APIs
• AWS services
• Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, CQRS/Event Sourcing

The ideal candidate will exhibit:

• An ability to quickly assimilate and efficiently use new technologies and programming languages
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Able to work well with business customers and engineering and technical partners
• Ready to do peer-to-peer code reviews

• Concepts and algorithms for data processing and analysis

Responsibilities in this role:

• Writing quality, performant, secure code and unit tests including Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Operations and support of the production system, including on-call duties
• Participating in the design and development of new features and capabilities, both on-prem and in an AWS cloud environment

Minimum Job Qualifications and Technical Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field and experience in application or database development
• Proficient in C#/.NET Core, AWS & Web services
• Proficient in relational Databases
• Communicates clearly in a timely manner in both verbal and written communication with other Software Development Engineers
• Highly technically proficient in core technologies and methodologies used by the team
• Able to analyze, diagnose and resolve highly complex programming problems and system coordination issues
• Able to take direction from others in analyzing and solving program and system issues and problems
• Able to analyze, diagnose and resolve simple programming problems and system coordination issues
• Able to work with minimum direction
• Able to adapt to changing technologies and methodologies and apply them to technological and/or business needs of limited scope
• Able to analyze, diagnose and resolve light to medium complex programming problems and system coordination issues
• Proficient with Test Driven Development including unit test creation
