Position Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.
$62,715.00-$100,344.00

CSG is currently hiring a Software Development Engineer I to focus on identifying and developing application specific metrics and data collection techniques to proactively alert operations and support teams of potential issues. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment consisting of people from operations, product development, quality assurance, and product support organizations.

Expectations and Responsibilities:

• Primarily responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining a data collection/mediation infrastructure consisting of multiple components.
• Coding in C, Java, Python and JavaScript to maintain components
• Required to create and maintain both customer and technical documentation for tools and processes created or modified.
• Required to leverage CSG's source control best practices for tools and configuration items created or modified.
• Responsible to provide customer support for existing and new monitoring infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of both Windows and UNIX operating systems. Ability to read and write scripts in a variety of scripting languages.
• Basic knowledge of networking.
• Good customer support and communication skills.
• Ability to support 24x7 on call rotation.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, ever-changing team environment.
• Ability to recognize areas in need of improvement and solve complex problems related to interconnected software components.
• Software development course work and/or experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent Experience required.
• Front end web development, including Node, Angular, HTML and CSS
• Back end server development, knowledge of C, Python and Linux operating systems is a plus
• Interest in and knowledge of cloud based technologies (AWS/Azure) is a plus
• Interest in and knowledge of Virtualization technologies, e.g. Virtual Box, Hyper-V and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is a plus
• Knowledge of Telecom mediation/billing products is a plus
• Proven ability to be a self-started, pro-active with highly developed analytical problem-solving skills to find creative and effective solutions to challenging problems.
• 1-2 years of experience.
