Position Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator works collaboratively with internal and external customers to coordinate shipments and deliveries to and from the assigned facility to ensure continuous customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for administrative Shipping & Receiving functions and will directly support the Shipping & Warehousing department.

Responsibilities:

  • Must always work in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Maintain all shipping and receiving paperwork.
  • Receive, ship, store, and transfer material for use in manufacturing.
  • Daily reporting for the shipping department
  • Researches and verifies any assessorial charges for approval.
  • Update and maintain dock schedule and appointments for in-bound and out-bound shipments.
  • Creates load picking packets and complies customer code stickers as needed.
  • Files BOLs, and other shipping documents
  • Prepares BOLs, customs paperwork, and other shipping documents as needed.
  • Assist with a broad range of warehouse tasks, utilizing forklifts, pallet movers, dollies, and carts.
  • Transport materials to and from production areas as needed.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
  • Coordinate, communicate and signal replenishment of material from the various stock locations to production.
  • Receive, inspect, store, and properly control the integrity of materials.
  • Work collaboratively with Shipping, Customer Service, and Production Planning to ensure on time pickup/delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage 3rd Party Logistics website for verifying loads incoming and outgoing.
  • Responsible in communicating with carriers if there are additional trailers needed for daily shipments.
  • Responsible for scheduling returns and pickup requests (i.e., pallets, ATR's, I/C, etc.) as requested.
  • Responsible for updating and sending a rolling non-ship report to CSR, Planner and PM for previous day's loads that did not pickup with detailed explanations.
  • Follow through with production and/or quality on items needed to fulfil daily shipments.
  • Pull out daily loads report the day prior to shipment.
  • Notify customer service of any shortages at the beginning of the shift. In addition to sending an email with actual ship quantities at the end of the shift.
  • Communicate with customers service any delays/issues affecting OTD with CSR as quickly as possible.
  • Contact COL carriers to schedule pickups to include Domestic and International shipments.
  • Performs other assignments as management may direct.

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Entry level to 1-2 years of inventory, warehouse, and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Materials handling experience in a manufacturing set-up.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Communication skills necessary to coordinate activities among various parties, including internal and external customers and vendors.
  • SAP or similar shipping/inventory control system preferred.
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to details.
  • Team player
  • Problem solving
  • Organization skills / experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.
  • Excellent follow through skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to be on feet up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb.
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
