Plymouth Rock is a leading personal lines insurer in the Northeast. We are looking for a passionate, innovative and analytical SEO Strategist to join our Website Team. As the Search Engine Optimization Strategist, your focus will be to drive and optimize our SEO strategies to inform content marketing, technical and onsite improvements. You will apply both right side (creative) and left side (analytical) brainpower to develop and implement SEO content and technical tactics that are steeped in data. Strong technical SEO skills and ecommerce experience are a must. You will have responsibility for measuring, analyzing and achieving results, while leading us with best practices.

To be successful in this role, you must be results-driven, able to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment and lead SEO enhancements that deliver increased traffic and online sales. The ideal candidate possesses deep understanding of how on-site SEO best practices, website development (CSS/HTML/Javascipt) and content experiences all work together to impact natural search rankings.

What You'll Be Doing;

Develop, execute and deliver SEO strategies that support website roadmap for improvements in content, on-page, technical, crawlability and UX

  • Drive content marketing strategy to increase rankings, visibility and natural search results for existing and new pages
  • Own management and execution of day-to-day SEO tactics
  • Conduct keyword research, ranking analysis and monitor competitor site to inform strategy
  • Perform continuous auditing, identify and recommend areas for improvement within site structure, page templates and redirects
  • Develop SEO centered ways to acquire links with good content
  • Work with Marketing and PR teams to maximize link equity value out of initiatives
  • Establish, measure, analyze KPIs and report on benchmarks
  • Analyze and report on traffic behavior, keyword rankings and site performance
  • Work within our CMS (WordPress) to optimize site taxonomy, improve titles, alt tags, meta tags, and schema markup
  • Maximize our local search potential within our licensed states
  • Write, copyedit site content and collaborate with our creative/copywriting teams
  • Work with our developers to identify, resolve and standardize technical SEO for Google compliance and best practices
  • Introduce and create SEO A/B testing to understand effectiveness of optimization, quantify results
  • Stay informed and advise on SEO best practices/trends and technologies
  • Serve as subject matter expert for all things SEO, educate and inform throughout the organization
Candidate Requirements;
  • BA/BS degree
  • 5+ years of SEO experience, hands-on proficiency within both technical and content marketing
  • Advanced understanding and strong expertise using search analytical/reporting tools like SEMRush, BrightEdge, AHREFS, Google Analytics 360, Google Search Console, Heap, Tableau and Excel
  • Advanced understanding of technical SEO concepts (crawling, indexing, rendering, AMP, site migrations, page speed optimization and more)
  • Strong understanding of SEO technical aspects including HTML, Javascript, CSS, schema, and site architecture
  • Deep strategic expertise across content marketing, technical SEO, on-page
  • Experience creating content for SEO
  • Hands-on knowledge of content management systems, WordPress preferred and 3rd party landing page builders (Instapage/Unbounce)
  • Expert knowledge in best practices, writing for consumer websites and keyword research
  • Experience with localized SEO
  • Proven track record of developing, presenting strategies and results to leadership
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • An understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO best practices
  • Experience with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), including split A/B testing experience
  • Must demonstrate ability to think analytically, identify and solve problems
  • Self-starter who is able to develop, lead, prioritize and execute on SEO strategies
This role can be based in our Woodbridge, New Jersey or Boston office.
