Primary Role
The Senior Technologist helps to drive the vision of the Physical Security leadership forward through the implementation, enhancement, establishing processes for physical security technology, which includes, Camera Systems, Access Control Systems, Physical Security Incident, and Event Management (P-SIEM), and reporting technology. They help define and evolve the physical security technology direction for the team. They assist in the creation and maintenance of a technology roadmap that enables business outcomes and are learning to reliably forecast business needs in the 3-5 year horizon. The Senior Technologist is leading projects with some guidance that execute against this roadmap. This includes development from concept through implementation, and into steady state. The Senior Technologist adheres to technology standards and the governance framework set by leadership. They work collaboratively with other organizations to ensure physical security technology is reliable, efficient, and available to the business. The Senior Technologist exhibits leadership to drive Physical Security Technology forward to help enable the Enterprise Security organization and keep American Water Employees and Contractors safe through the use of effective security technology implementations.
