Mercer Investments LLC is seeking candidates for the following position based in the St. Louis, MO office. (Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite):

Senior Strategic Investment Research Specialist

We will count on you to:

Support investment clients globally by producing Mercer's global intellectual capital, delivering high-quality global strategic research and intellectual capital that drives the company's investment consulting and Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) businesses and underpins the company's Global Investment Forum (and other conferences') agendas. Own, deliver and project manage strategic investment research with supporting quantitative analysis on a wide range of topics including long-term trends, asset class views, topical economic / market relevant events and portfolio construction guidance. Review other team members' or other specialist team members' draft research and provide feedback. Generate and communicate actionable investment ideas relevant for a wide range of investors, which includes proficiently presenting these items to client investment committees as well as at our Global Investment Forums and other conferences on stage in front of large audiences of professional institutional investors. As a key member of the capital market assumptions process, develop assumptions for both listed and unlisted markets, work with external data providers as needed and integrate Mercer's views around themes. Perform modelling and project management and develop our modelling capabilities in cooperation with internal and potentially external stakeholders. Consult for clients from all major US institutional client segments on strategic investment research topics in order to understand the ever-evolving needs of the company's diverse client base. Introduce and promote strategic research related items. Position supervises one (1) Senior Strategic Investment Research Analyst.

What you need to have:

Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, or a related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered, or as an Investment Research Specialist, Strategic Research Analyst, Investment Analyst, Investment Consulting Analyst, or a related position. Must have five (5) years of experience with all of the following: Strategic investment research experience in the institutional investment management or consulting industries, including owning and delivering reports on capital markets, asset allocation, investments and instruments as well as white papers on long-term investment themes; Performing investment analysis, including considering the distinction and interactions between dynamic asset allocation views and strategic asset allocation views when constructing portfolios for different client segments and individual clients; Modeling of long-term capital market assumptions for both public and private market asset classes; Using Microsoft Excel to independently build and maintain large spreadsheet models and to review complex spreadsheets built by others; Working with a range of different clients across various client segments, including defined benefit and defined contribution clients, to help them meet their investment objectives. Must have Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Travel Reqt: Less than 5% domestic travel for client meetings or Global Investment Forums.
