We are looking for a Sr Statistical Geneticist to contribute to the analysis and interpretation of 100,000s of genotyped and sequenced humans, with the goal of generating the knowledge to enable Regeneron to deliver better medicines to the patients who need them. You will work collaboratively with other specialists in genomic data analysis, biology, computation and medicine to design, execute and refine analyses that connect genetic variation to human diseases and health. You will help develop and implement the methods and tools that will enable these analyses to be executed and interpreted at scale.

A typical day might include the following:
•Work with genome scale analyses with genotype or sequence data.
•Execute and interpret GWAS with sequencing or genotyping data as a substrate.
•Responsible for groundbreaking genomic analyses and their application to complex human traits.
•Use statistical genetic analysis methods to generate insights about human disease.
•Critically review and provide input on analysis plans, results and summaries to ensure they are accurate and reliable. Identify potential problems and propose remedies or refinements.

•Have outstanding communication skills to summarize and present new statistical methods and concepts and the results of human genetic studies to a variety of technical audiences, ranging from specialists in statistical genetics and computation to specialists in biology, drug design and medicine.
•Are a motivated teammate with a desire to pursue genetic discovery in a multi-disciplinary environment.

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD in Statistical Genetics, Machine Learning, Statistics, or Computer Science. Experience with approaches that are currently being employed include genome-wide association analysis, exome-wide association analysis, rare variant analysis, Mendelian randomization, LD Score regression, polygenic risk score modelling, pleiotropy analysis, meta-analysis, and the use of functional data to prioritize variants and genes of interest. Expertise with modern cluster and cloud computing environments. Experience with advanced tools for genomic analyses (PLINK, SAIGE, samtools, Minimac, etc.) and for statistical analyses and computation (R, python, C/C++, Javascript) to execute analyses at scale. Experience conducting human genetic analyses of one of the following phenotype areas: cancer, vision disorders, eye disease, quantitative traits, drug response, cardiovascular disease, psychiatric disorders, neurological disorders, immune pathways, inflammatory diseases, hearing loss, infectious disease, preferred. Experience conducting human genetic analyses in admixed populations, including genome-wide and local ancestry analysis, preferred.
