Pond is currently placing a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team. This individual will be responsible for assisting with accounting month-end close, financial reporting, coordinating efforts with the accounting firm for audits and taxes, and improving financial processes and policies. We work along side a full service multi-discipline team of professionals in a fast-pace passionate environment of dedicated and talented engineers, architects, planners and construction employees delivering comprehensive design consulting.

Knowledge and Responsibilities

• Assist with accounting research on current and emerging GAAP and the implementation of any new accounting standards (leases).
• Prepare the general ledger monthly entries and reconciliations and assist with any financial reporting.
• Review and suggest improvements to internal policies and controls to ensure conformance and compliance with GAAP.
• Assist with the annual year-end audit process with external auditors by pulling support.
• Assist with tax related reports: property taxes, sales and use taxes, income taxes, etc.
• Implement technology driven accounting practices that reduce manual input and focus on improving quality and efficiency.
• Develops and maintains positive customer and client relationships to foster repeat business.
• Updates and maintains body of knowledge related to training, degree or job responsibilities.
• Completes assigned work on time and within budget.
• May be required to work after typical hours as project requirements and company needs dictate.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in accounting; and at least 2 years related e x pe ri en c e a nd /o r t r a i n i ng; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Prior experience with any of the following is considered a plus: SQL, tax experience, lease implementation or any industry experience with architecture & engineering firms (A/E).
