We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Scientist to enhance our Biologics Expression Team (BET) capabilities of biologics. The successful candidate will play a critical role in a dynamic group responsible for transient expression & purification of antibody therapeutics on a milligram-to-gram scale for not only normal IgG format also complex bispecific and multi-specific antibody. The selected individual will be a well-organized and a highly productive scientist that can design and execute experiments efficiently, as well as analyze, interpret and present data to multidisciplinary project teams

  • Collaborate and work with a diverse group of scientists across all therapeutic areas to ensure timely progress in research projects.
  • Execute cloning, production and purification of protein therapeutics from mammalian expression systems.
  • Biochemical, biophysical and functional profiling of antibodies and recombinant antibody fragments.
  • Ability to solve process development problems and implement improved procedures.
  • Keep detailed and organized records of experiments

Basic Qualifications:

BS and 10+ years of relevant hands-on antibody expression and purification experience in either biotech/pharma industry or academia

OR MS and 8+ years of experience

OR PhD in life sciences with preference in Molecular Biology, Immunology or a related field.and 2+ years or experience.

Required Skills
  • Extensive hands-on experience in molecular biology and protein engineering, including; design, expression, purification and biochemical/biophysical characterization of various antibody formats.
  • Experience in molecular and cell biology techniques including; gene synthesis design, primer design, gene assemblies and cloning, transfection and transduction methods.
  • Expression recombinant antibodies in transient expression systems using mammalian cells; purification of recombinant proteins and antibodies using affinity-based and/or conventional chromatographic separation techniques; use of automated purification platforms including AKTA.
  • Biochemical/biophysical characterization of various antibody formats using ion exchange, analytical SEC, endotoxin analysis, immunoblotting, or related techniques.
  • Proven ability to work independently, effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion to meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build strong relationships with internal and external collaborators while working effectively in a collaborative team environment across multiple functions.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational skills, risk management and orientation to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective presentation to cross-functional and senior management teams are essential for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in antibody discovery using several cloning technologies.
  • Experience in various imaging/multicolor flow cytometry-based instruments and data analysis programs.
  • Experience in tissue culture techniques and functional cell-based assay development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work within teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective presentation of complex scientific data to cross-functional and senior management.
