General Overview

The Revenue Finance team within the Controller's Group is responsible for net patient service revenue valuation, reporting and budgeting functions for institutions within the System and preparation of annual Medicare, state and other cost report based information.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

This position will be working closely with local entity constituents, Revenue Finance peers and general accounting to perform net revenue valuation, prepare related reporting and assist with the monthly close cycle. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the revenue manager and work closely with other senior and junior staff during the monthly close to ensure that net revenue information is accurate and complete.
  • Assist in the completion of monthly calculations of third party settlements and reserves.
  • Provide analytical support for analysis related to financial results, forecasts, or ad hoc projects.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting of net revenue. Ability to analyze budget to actual variances.
  • Understand healthcare contracting and reimbursement methodologies, and stay abreast of regulatory and other changes that impact revenue.
  • Assist in the development of work processes and documentation.
  • Interact with personnel from various local and corporate functions as necessary.
  • Assist the revenue manager in providing support and training to junior staff.
  • Provide documentation and support to external auditors for year-end financial statement audit.


Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Master's degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of hospital revenue, accounting or financial analysis experience. A strong understanding of governmental and private payor payment methodologies is preferred.
