Job Description
The Senior Prospect Research Specialist is a key member of the Prospect Development team at WNET, working closely with Trustees and Major Gift Officers in supporting front line fundraising activities, prospect research, and donor development.

The Senior Prospect Research Specialist supports a moves management process designed to support Prospect Development, increasing Trustee and Major Gift giving. Specific responsibilities include:
* Analyze major gift portfolio composition in partnership with the Director of Prospect Development to ensure all portfolios are in alignment with WNET's fundraising goals and initiatives and to keep portfolio sizes in line with best practices;
* Work with the Director of Prospect Development to identify pipeline gaps and work creatively and proactively to close those gaps by discovering both new prospects and untapped potential within the current prospect pool;
* Interpret, evaluate, and validate screening and/or prospect research results, communicate analysis in the appropriate format to colleagues, and implement follow-up research strategies to assist gift officers with the development of their cultivation and solicitation plans;
* Proactively and reactively create prospect research profiles on individuals and foundations;
* Create, monitor, and disseminate news alerts for individual prospects, trustees, and associated companies as well as philanthropic trends that could have an impact on fundraising at WNET;
* Serve as a subject matter expert on WNET's donor database (Salesforce), including the ability to build reports, accurately updating constituent information, and an understanding of moves management;
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of four years of experience in non-profit management and/or Development, preferably in individual giving or prospect research. In addition, candidates must be highly organized, detail oriented; possess superior people skills, the ability to take initiative, and work effectively and flexibly in a fast-paced, team environment. Strong communications skills, including excellent writing and editing skills will be needed; proficiency with MS Office required.

Candidates with experience with fundraising databases (Salesforce) and a BA/BS or equivalent experience are preferred.
