Description

Boulder Scientific Company (BSC) is headquartered in Mead, CO, and is a premier provider of organometallic compounds and other specialty chemicals used in a wide range of applications. BSC is a pioneer and leading manufacturer of metallocene catalysts and co-catalysts that are primarily used to produce metallocene polyethylene, polypropylene and elastomers, but also supplies products into Electronics, Pharmaceutical and Defense applications. BSC operates two sites in Northern Colorado, which include: a main production facility in Mead and a second facility in Longmont. BSC has continuously grown the sales of its products to existing and new customers and expects to continue on a high growth trajectory. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing all field operations on the projects assigned in order to achieve quality, timely, and cost effective completion of projects. This person works with design engineers to develop the construction package, obtain permits, and oversee contractors during the construction phase. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills, as well as have strong communication abilities. Pay for this role is $110,000-130,000 annually. Job Responsibilities Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day job site activities, including OSHA safety compliance Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations that affect BSC Schedule contractors, obtain bids, and procure equipment and materials; ensure contractors and subcontractors have the necessary project resources, a safe project site, and support to assure success of all members of the project team Manage multiple projects at a time with the initial guide of the Project/Design Engineer; collaborate with Project/Design Engineer as a subject matter expert to facilitate project construction that meets the technical design Obtain construction permits and coordinate all construction activities; direct field personnel/subcontractor superintendents according to the project plan; identify pre-mobilization activities in conjunction with the Project Engineer Report any problems promptly to the Project/Design Engineer to facilitate the most cost-effective solutions Plan all phases of the construction lifecycle from initiation to completion; use scheduling software to update schedules, track progress, and document project progression Maintain strict Project Baseline Schedules including build-out construction schedule and making changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met Manage construction vendors to ensure that work performed is consistent with the established contracts and will meet or exceed BSC's expectations Drive cost-effective management techniques and strategies in the field Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and all employees Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to coordinate with other trades, plan ahead, and pro-actively solve issues Update master project schedule monthly and relay that information to Project/Design Engineer Participate in design/constructability reviews Review all requests for change orders and assess their needs and verify with original job scope; review change order quotes for accuracy; review all invoices from contractors to ensure the scope of work being billed was effectively performed Qualifications BS degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or other related Engineering discipline is preferred; m inimum of 10 years of experience working on commercial building, laboratories, chemical or petrochemical plants, and/or pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing facilities Experience Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage field supervisors and subcontractors and work cross-functionally with employees Demonstrated knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, construction sequencing, scheduling, safety regulations, drawings, and construction documents requirements Highly proficient in blueprint, isometric, and P&ID review and have working knowledge of materials of construction, chemical processes, and equipment involved in all field activities Proficient in technology and software applications, including Microsoft Project Demonstrated ability to gather data, identify discrepancies, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others through good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards and adheres to all safety regulations and procedures Must pass a job-related physical. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to Colorado weather conditions and a manufacturing plant environment. Will be in manufacturing and lab environments that require the appropriate use of PPE. Employee may be required to work hours other than their usual schedule; may be required to be on-call or available at odd hours and weekends to support manufacturing startups and continuously-running processes.
