Senior Project Engineer - Commissioning with Mechanical Concentration, must be a self-motivated, energetic
professional and well versed in projects touching on building MEP systems design, commissioning, retro-
commissioning, and construction of critical systems ranging in size and complexity. The ideal candidate shall
possess extensive theoretical and practical knowledge in the testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and
related controls. Candidate will be a team leader responsible for executing daily tasks, maintaining project
schedules, guiding and mentoring of Associate and Project engineers. This Client-Facing role requires technical
competency, management skillset, leadership and reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Commission mechanical distribution equipment and related controls in a variety of environments,
including:
o Mission critical facilities (e.g. data centers)
o Central boiler and chiller plants
o Small power generation and cogeneration stations (up to 100 MW)
 Conduct Level 1 - 5 commissioning activities in accordance with client requirements
 Perform physical testing of mechanical equipment and measure results using test instrumentation
 Identify and assemble relavent documentation, drawings, and data
 Monitor mechanical system performance and suggest improvements where needed
 Develop building-specific commissioning plans
 Schedule and lead commissioning meetings
 Develop and/or review factory witness test procedures
 Attend factory witness tests and provide detailed report identifying deficiencies
 Submit and maintain daily commissioning reports as required
 Train staff and coordinate their professional success
 Respond to customer inquiries in a manner that exceeds the customer's expectations
 Ensure compliance with safety regulations
 Knowledgeable with common mechanical, and controls-related building equipment, including:
o Fuel Systems
o Backup generators
o Reciprocating engines
o Chillers (i.e. electric, air-cooled, multi-stage)
o Boilers (steam and hot water)
o Pumps
o Roof top units
o Air handling units
o Computer room air conditioning units
o Computer room air handlers
o Cooling towers
o VESDA
o Fire Protection
o Building management systems


BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering with 3 or more years of hands-on
experience in mechanical/controls test and commissioning of mission
critical systems
OR
Minimum of 5 or more years of experience as a commissioning agent
with hands-on experience in mechanical/controls test and
commissioning of mission critical systems
 Experience in Mission Critical facility commissioning essential
 Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, problem solver
 Excellent communication and relationship skills
 Effective written and verbal communication skills
 Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently
 Distributed control system experience a plus
 Management skills and experience a plus
 Significant understanding of Buiding Management Systems
 Deep understanding and application of test instrumentation
 A "client-first" mentality
Travel nationwide 50% - 75% if not assigned locally
