Purpose and Scope:
This position is responsible for managing logistics operations (inbound, intercompany and outbound) across the whole TMST supply chain. This includes logistics planning, shipping, warehouse management, budgeting, carrier relationship management, staffing, and continuous optimization of logistics operations. Incumbent in this position is also in charge of developing and implementing company logistics strategy.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and implement logistics vision and strategy for TMST and its product distribution network (external and intercompany product distribution) while evaluating existing logistics operations through collaboration with internal stakeholders (i.e. manufacturing, commercial team), suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers
  • Lead inbound and outbound transportation operations across all TMST operations
  • Manage carriers' performance and overall performance of distribution network. Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times and transportation costs through existing and newly established KPI metrics
  • Create and implement best practices logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance
  • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
  • Maintain strategic and operational communications with carriers, suppliers, warehouses, custom brokers, and others involved in the shipping and delivery of TMST product offerings
  • Team up with Corporate Procurement to negotiate rates and contract with asset-based transportation carriers and brokers
  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, and frequency where applicable which also includes constant evaluation and introduction of new logistics service providers
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues
  • Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to internal stakeholders as well as to Senior Leadership
  • Identify savings and inefficiencies as well as cost optimization opportunities within Logistics Operations (both outbound and inbound) by removing waste or/and unnecessary steps in the logistics process
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain to formulate and update transportation-related procedures and ensure their compliance in alignment with customer service and company financial objectives
  • Ensure TMST compliance with import/export regulations/customs and legal, health and safety requirements
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit and delivery
  • Support new business / corporate initiatives and projects

Key Technical/Functional Skills:
  • Implementation of and cooperation with 3 PL service providers
  • Experience in management and / or deploying Transportation Management System (TMS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Proven track record of working experience as a Logistics / Transportation Manager
  • Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics
  • Proficient in standard logistics software, TM and WM systems
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or related with at least 15 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or related with at least 12 years of relevant work experience

Relocation could be offered for this position, as well as a hybrid work schedule.
