Restaurant Supply Chain Solutions, LLC, a Yum! Brands Co-op, is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Data Governance, to join the Data and Process Governance Team in Louisville, KY.

Position Overview

This position supports the Vice President, Internal Audit and Data and Process Governance, in providing leadership around the company's use of its data assets. Leveraging a strong understanding of the RSCS supply chain, IT systems, and relationships with other functional groups (Procurement, Business Technology, Planning, Commodity Risk Management and Development and Equipment Solutions), this position establishes data governance protocols, identifies gaps in data necessary to manage the supply chain effectively and works to source missing data, and creates validation procedures to ensure that authenticated data is loaded into the RSCS data warehouse.

Essential Functions

  • Establish and promote data governance at RSCS. In coordination with the VP, establish data governance processes and procedures, including ownership of master and transactional data and Data Life Cycle Management (DLCM).
  • Develop, execute, and implement RSCS data management activities. Establish RSCS's data policies and procedures, including DLCM from ideation through proposal to securing Senior Leadership Team buy-in.
  • Working with the IT team, complete the development of RSCS's Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Establish and chair the RSCS Data Council, sets RSCS priorities for data acquisition targets, and secures cross-functional alignment to changes around RSCS's data ecosystem:
  • Working with business units and the IT group, identify data gaps and source required data as appropriate.
  • Develop metrics and dashboard reporting to measure RSCS's data completeness, validation, and overall data health.
  • Working with Process Governance team, lead future-state data mapping activities.
  • Build and lead data stewardship structure:
  • Builds and manages RSCS's broader data governance organization, liaising with Senior Leadership to identify RSCS's data stewards and assist in development of tools to assist stewards in their validation activities (see the below responsibility).
  • Works one-on-one with RSCS's data stewards to ensure stewards are actively managing their respective areas ... identifies tools/reports to assist stewards in their activities and works with the Business Intelligence/IT team to develop those tools/reports (as needed).
  • Technical leadership over day-to-day data management and governance activities:
  • Direct management (to resolution) of RSCS's distributor data ... acts as the "data steward" over distributor shipments, receipts, open PO's, and inventory.
  • Manage data definitions and metadata. Ensures data consistency across the organization.
  • Establish DLCM processes and "retire" data as appropriate when no longer required.

    Required Skills
    • Bachelor's degree required in a technology-related business or supply chain field. Prefer Master's or MBA - technology, data, or supply chain focus.
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in data governance and/or data management.
    • Prefer industry specific experience - procurement, supply chain management, finance or operations/distribution.
    • Understanding of Master Data Management technology landscape, processes, and design principles.
    • Operational familiarity in the use of meta-data management, data quality, and data stewardship tools and platforms.
    • Experience in the use of data catalogues and data quality technologies.
    • Hands-on operational management and change management.
    • Proven track record in operating large data governance programs. Knowledge of Cloud-based big data frameworks such as data lake, relational, Graph and other databases.
    • Experience in managing enterprise data assets in a large, complex organization.
    • Should be familiar with cloud and data management trends, including open source projects, methodologies (connect and collect, hub and spoke, data fabrics, etc.) and leading commercial vendors that relate to data acquisition and management.
    • Ability to analyze complex situations and to derive workable actions.
    • Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to the company.
    • Strong relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to understand and integrate motives and to lead virtual teams.
    • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.
