Overview

Responsible for accounting and providing financial analysis, support, and guidance regarding all aspects of the IT related activities. Responsible for ongoing reporting of monthly/quarterly results as well as budgeting and planning for the annual plan. Strategic business partner and financial advisor to the Chief Digital Officer.

Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Directs the accounting processes for the global IT function, which includes these specific responsibilities:
    • Responsible for ensuring that all IT-related financial accounts are properly stated in accordance with GAAP and adequately supported by appropriate underlying transactions or accounting entries.
    • Directs the accounting for ongoing accounting processes for IT-related business transactions.
    • Performs analyses, reconciliations, and monthly fluctuations of key balance sheet accounts
    • Analyzes and validates capitalized resources; collaborates with both IT and Accounting resources to ensure proper accounting while also maximizing resource investment.
    • Completes audit requests for Internal and External auditors for key controls related to the IT financials
    • Establishes, maintains, and monitors control systems to safeguard company's assets and assure compliance with corporate policies and procedures. Key interface to respond to internal and external audit inquiries as requested.
    • Recognition of new or changing business activity and determination of any new/revised accounting for the related transactions/events.
Coordination, consolidation and evaluation of the annual financial plan (OPC)
  • Prepare OPC and periodic plan presentations as necessary, providing commentary and insight into key planning assumptions.
  • Accountable for effective and timely preparation and analysis of long-range, annual, periodic, and contingency financial plans. Ensures that financial plans are aligned with business strategies.
Financial Analytics and Strategic Business Partnering
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports with commentary on variances to plan and prior periods.
  • Collaborates with team to prepare insightful analyses of financial plans, budgets, monthly results, long-term strategy development plans, and miscellaneous ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Provide financial information and analysis of results for external reporting, board materials, etc.
  • Prepares monthly reporting and analysis reports for the Chief Digital Officer including reporting for the global IT function.
  • Prepares decks for monthly IT meetings including budget to actual, project tracking and analyses of each to bridge actuals to plans and overall long range plan.
  • Support senior management by providing ad hoc financial analytics that may be both short-term and long-term/strategic in nature.
  • Provides financial information within the IT organization, assisting in their development and understanding of financial reporting, planning, and budgeting.
  • Drives capitalization and project related decisions by collaborating with IT and Accounting resources, both at the local level and the corporate level to ensure alignment of overall goals while also maintaining alignment with accounting guidance and standards.
  • Maintains and tracks individual IT projects; makes analysis of this tracking and provides solutions (both locally and corporate) to issues noted.
  • Bridge both operating spend year over year as well as capital spend and associated amortization year over year.
  • Analyze impact of key global programs such as cybersecurity and licenses on each division.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree required; CPA/MBA preferred.
  • 7-9 years experience; mix of public accounting and industry accounting preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior management, and providing financial support to non-financial business leaders
  • Leader and collaborator of multiple constituents associated with projects or initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, as well as successful presentation skills.
  • Organization - ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and bring those projects to completion on a timely basis.
  • Self-starter - ability to recognize business challenges and offer solutions without direction; proactively look for opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Extensive experience with Lawson and/or SAP G/L a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite.
