The Senior Environmental Project Manager will manage all aspects of environmental investigation, remediation, O&M, and LTM projects to ensure that the projects are safely completed on time and within scope and budget.

In this role the Senior Project Manager will:

  • Manage all aspects of a small to large sized projects and contracts ($10K - $10M).
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients.
  • Supervise and mentor multiple staff members including project managers;
  • Work primarily with federal (Department of Defense) clients to define project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Plan, communicate, and implement projects to safely complete projects on time and within budget to meet client expectations.
  • Lead safety efforts including preparation and compliance with approved safety plan.
  • Act to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Identify, develop, and align the resources to complete the projects. This may include preparing calculations, reports, and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and subcontractors/vendors.
  • Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources.
  • Conduct meetings and prepare forecasts and reports to communicate the status of the project.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
  • Coordinate with senior management to ensure appropriate oversight is in place and sufficient time is allowed for independent technical reviews of all deliverables.
  • Coordinate with accounting for project initiation; forecasting; accounts payable; and client invoicing.
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with risk policies and what could go wrong on a project and how to protect KGS/Trinity.
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Create and model a safe work environment.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices.
  • Work with senior management to develop the technical approach and cost proposal for new opportunities; and
  • Assist in business development activities as appropriate, under the supervision of Director of Business Development and business development team.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (geology, science, or engineering).
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience with at least 10 years in the role of Project Manager.
  • Professional certification/registration in a relevant field such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), or similar registration / certification.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience working on a wide range of project under CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulations; and
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience working with federal clients including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Army, Navy, and Air Force.
