Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a growing technology company in the Lehi, UT area is seeking a Senior Embedded/Systems Engineer. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager.Responsibilities:

  • Accurate translation of customer/mission needs into well-defined technical requirements as well as well-defined system architectures
  • Technical interface between Product Manager, Project Manager/Coordinator, and Engineering teams; Interface with Product Manager and end-users (on a need basis) regarding architecture capabilities, requirements, and use cases to develop and decompose product life-cycle updates
  • Execution of system engineering tasks and processes to ensure technical integrity of the system throughout the life cycle of the product; The responsibility shall include but not limited to development of concept of operations, requirements, architecture design, interface control, system integration, test strategy & test plan, validation, and verification
  • Works with data, pulling the different sets of data together
  • Perform functional analysis, requirement validation & verification, technical planning and management
  • Perform trade studies and system analysis with modeling, and simulations
  • Support risk assessment and risk mitigation
  • Lead/participate in stage gate, product, and program reviews
  • Write and conduct integration tests and verification plans


Skills

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics
  • A minimum of 5-10+ years demonstrated engineering experience in multidisciplinary product development
  • Able to take the needs of the customers (expressed via PM), translate into requirements for implementation Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Strong ability to solve problems in logic, mathematics, and engineering
  • Ability to plot and analyze data
  • Experience writing software in languages such as Python or MATLAB and/or C/C++ in a Linux environment
  • Understanding of System Engineering development life cycle and change management process
  • Experience integrating software and hardware systems - or working with combining those
  • Experience in systems engineering functions: concept of operations development, requirements management, and integration, verification, and validation (IVV)
  • Experience working in an agile development environment and being part of a highly integrated team collaborating with hardware and software engineering teams
  • Experience working with project management tools and requirements management tools
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation experience is preferred
  • Experience working with system-of-systems is nice to have
  • Experience in integrating complex RF electronic systems or aerospace systems and software is nice to have
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Enterprise software and JIRA or similar tools is nice to have
  • Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware is nice to have
