About the Role

The Senior Director of Omni Inventory Management is responsible for partnering with the cross functional team to develop end-to-end product strategies from hindsight, assortment framework and customer demand. The Senior Director will lead the creation and execution of the pre-season strategies including financial strategy, sales, margin and inventory to in-season optimization through OTB, commercial planning, and chase optimization for their division to maximize sales. Channel responsibilities include Specialty Stores and Online across North America. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with the ability to develop inventory management bench-strength and a talent pipeline through active participation in recruiting, training and development, while fostering an inclusive environment and exemplifying Gap Inc. What You'll Do

  • Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan and forecasts to drive in season responsiveness; lead the analysis of historical data and trends to identify risks and opportunities for the channel and division
  • Partner heavily with the lead Merchant, VP IM, and Product Strategy team to develop the strategic Long-Range Plan for the given product categories inclusive of product strategy and financial plans; Create pre-season sales, gross margin, and inventory plans by channel, division and department that support product strategies, reconciling divisional targets and bottom-up plans
  • Deliver a flexible and responsive approach to inventory management inclusive of Test and Respond, Rapid Response, and Open To Buy; own the Inventory Investment (style level buy), review buy plans, manage basics inventory, and ensure the use of VMI
  • Build the assortment framework inclusive of program/cc targets, in-store-dates, good/better/best framework, and season code (time on offer), ensuring assortment types that are delivered within each store maximize productivity and margin related to space planning and customer profile (modular assorting)
  • Maximize yield through allocation, replenishment, pre-season and in-season promotion and markdown while maintaining the pricing architecture that is in line with the market strategy and product positioning.
  • Partner with cross-functional partners such as Design, Merchandising, Production, Marketing, Finance, Field Visual, and Site Merchandising Teams to support a variety of deliverables and action items including: commercial plans, key investments aligned to big ideas, marketing campaigns, inventory budgets & forecasts, product strategies
  • Manage the financial success of the online and stores division by meeting sales, gross margin, gross margin return on investment (GMROI) and inventory turn goals; validate and present divisional financial forecasts and strategies in Open To Buy Process.

Who You Are

  • Proven experience and knowledge of inventory management, IT Systems, product pipeline process design, promotional strategies, with a high level of proficiency with all complex inventory management systems
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to lead effective team development, identify opportunities for improvement and recognize talent contributions.
  • Collaborate with peers to share best practices, develop strategic knowledge, build cross-functional partnership and maintain strong working relationships with peers and cross-functional partners
  • Superior communication skills to communicate high level visions to senior management and influence senior leaders across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to empower others and lead to drive results, approach opportunities with a problem-solving mindset, and cultivate a results-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and focus on key initiatives to drive the business (80/20)
  • BA/BS required. MBA a plus; Minimum 10+ years inventory management experience, stores and digital preferred; with 7+ years people management experience
  • Ability to travel 10% of the year.
