Senior Dev Ops Engineer Portland, Oregon

HealthSparq is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our SaaS company in Portland, Oregon. HealthSparq's customers are health insurance companies, and our users are people with health insurance. We offer SaaS products for things like finding a doctor, finding the cost of a procedure or treatment, and participating in a rewards program.

You will be a member of the Platform Enablement Team, which owns cross-product utility services, collaborates with Cambia on improvements to our infrastructure-as-code solution, and works with other HealthSparq Engineering teams and Architecture to help drive architectural changes.

Tools you would use:

• AWS

Things you might do:

• Upgrade and improve build pipelines
• Automate (existing) end-to-end tests
• Create proofs-of-concept for key Platform and Infrastructure services
• Be a point of contact between Platform and Infrastructure teams
• Upgrade and improve data pipelines
• Automate application of security patches
  

Skills you would need:

• Cloud Infrastructure. Enough to:
  • extend infrastructure-as-code to use new cloud features
  • propose and implement solutions
  • debug infrastructure issues
    

• Collaboration. Enough to work on projects:
  • across teams
  • within your team
  • primarily with another team
  • where you are the bridge between teams
    

• Programming. Enough to:
  • Write Lambdas
  • Create service poofs-of-concept
  • fix bugs
  • add features to services
    

• Automation. Enough to:
  • automate manual processes
  • improve existing automation
  • design new automated processes

• Software Engineers on the Platform Enablement Team and other teams
• DevOps Engineers on the Infrastructure team
