Position: Senior Data Scientist
Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030
Duties: Understand data requirements, priorities, and service level agreements. Identify the most suitable source of data and perform initial data quality checks. Perform exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing to generate key insights for business and identify feasibility, impact, and scope of business problem. Plan and design strategy for data generation, data preprocessing, feature generation, model development, and training to solve business problems. Identify model evaluation metrics. Apply best practice techniques for model testing and validation. Write code to develop required solutions and application features. Write test cases for unit testing and perform end-to-end testing of complete products. Ensure that the new feature is scalable and sustainable in production. Responsible for integration, end-to-end tests, production release, validation, and support of new features or solutions. Use appropriate methods of data visualization to represent data and model outcomes. Translate business problems into data science solutions. Identify use-cases and build proof-of-concept to demonstrate how the method will solve the business problem. Provide recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues. Guide junior and mentor junior associates.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field.
Skills required: Experience coding in Python. Experience coding in Java. Experience with data pipeline design and implementation using Wings framework. Experience with data analysis and manipulation using Pandas and Scikit-learn. Experience with data retrieval using Hive, Pyspark, and SQL. Experience with deep learning libraries including Keras, Tensorflow, and Pytorch. Experience with NLP tools and models including NLTK, Gensim, Spacy, and BERT. Experience with statistics, hypothesis testing, and A/B testing. Experience designing and writing unit-tests using Python and Pytest. Experience with development and deployment tools including Element machine learning platform, VScode, GCP, Git, Looper, and Airflow. Experience with technical writing, data visualization, and data presentation. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
