Everest Insurance is seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics practice. The Engineer will be responsible for data architecture and pipeline design and must possess strong data modelling and query optimization skills. They will be building and maintaining data processing frameworks and will work closely with data science, visualization and analyst teams. We practice an agile, highly customer focused, and learning-based approach to product development that aims to bring new products to market in 9-12 months.

Job Function/Scope:

  • Lead the development of data transformation processes to integrate data from a wide variety of sources including data lakes, RDBMS's, real time event hubs, and REST APIs
  • Maintain a predictable, transparent, global operating rhythm that ensures always-on access to high-quality data for stakeholders across the company
  • Work cross-functionally across the enterprise to centralize data and standardize it for use by business, data science or other stakeholders
  • Prototype new approaches and build solutions at scale, define best practices for exploratory data analytics.
  • Empower the business by creating value through the increased adoption of data, data science and business intelligence landscape.
  • Leverage Agile techniques to plan and manage workload and set expectations for deliverables of moderate complexity.
  • Enhance the existing data centric CI/CD framework
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields.
  • Insurance experience a plus
  • 9+ years of data engineering experience
  • Expertise in SQL and data analysis and experience with at least one programming language (Python Preferred)
  • Experience with developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space
  • Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data
  • Exposure to machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics is a plus
  • Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data glossaries.

For NYC and California only: The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $190,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
