The Commercial Casualty team of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for an Underwriter to join our New York office.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Underwrite and price business for the following lines of coverage: Workers Compensation, Automobile Liability and General Liability
  
• Establish and maintain broker relationships, with a focus on upper middle market primary casualty business
  
• Assist in development and execution of business strategies to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business
  
• Develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of risk management insurance placements
  
• Work collaboratively with various internal partners that help support the day-to-day operations
  
• Support the continued development and growth of the Commercial Casualty Team
  

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

• College degree preferred
  
• Minimum of 3-5 year's underwriting experience, underwriting casualty insurance
  
• Experience and expertise in working with a broad array of risk management program structures (guaranteed cost to loss sensitive).
  
• Has existing broker relationships who handle upper middle market sized business and/or direct client relationships
  
• Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  
• Strong presentation and communication skills
  
• Ability to handle problems and come up with viable solutions
  
• Strong knowledge of extensions of coverage (forms and endorsements for each line of business)
  
• Ability to multitask and handle multiple opportunities at one time.

For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$170,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
