Salary: NY, ME, PA, VI, NC & TN $128,833.00 to $161,042.00

Salary: Brewster, NY, and CT: $144,717.00 to $177,147.00

Business Developer will develop utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage projects with a team of experts to support Avangrid's growing pipeline and goals. This position, while remote, will be primarily focused on renewable energy projects in the PJM Mid-Atlantic region.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site identification for utility scale solar, wind and battery storage projects across the PJM Mid-Atlantic region using ArcGIS, Google Earth and other available data.
• Develop and work with project team to identify and communicate project competitiveness for solar, wind and battery storage projects.
• Work with project team to manage the schedule, budget and spend to mature development assets.
• Negotiate site control agreements with private and public landowners, tax abatements and title curative agreements in order to de-risk development assets.
• Manage multiple consultants to execute studies and related project work to ensure the project remains on schedule and to mature development assets.
• Assess and communicate risks associated with development assets, while also identifying mitigation of such risks with the project team and other experts.
• Prepare and work to get approved local land use permits as needed by working with the project team to prepare applications and presentations to support land use permits.
• Speak at public hearings related to project needs and local land use processes.
• Identify renewable energy related business opportunities.
• Mature development assets from site identification to construction and operations.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy Management, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or related degrees.

Preferred but not required: 3 years' experience in energy generation, project development, renewable energy management, asset management, development consulting.

Up to 50% domestic travel required.

Preferred Qualifications

Undergraduate of MBA degree.

Prior experience in renewable energy project development, energy project development, electric/natural gas supply and transportation/distribution or the independent power business.
