Position Summary

The GW Medical Faculty Associates is creating a new group responsible for patient access analytics and business insights. This role is a key member of this new team which will be responsible for partnering with leaders across the patient access & experience teams to build actionable data and provide detailed insights into what the data is showing. This role will partner with multiple departments and division leaders to share data & insights, seek feedback on enhancements to dashboards and reports. The role is responsible for creation of dashboards in Epic, tableau, and other Bl tools. The candidate will also be expected to effectively mentor/lead/train others in development methodologies as well as work and coordinate with business analysts, project managers and customers to complete product design through development, deployment and maintenance cycles.

  • Operate independently with minimal supervision and through close coordination with other team members and leadership.
  • Suggest process improvements through automation of data flow.
  • Proactively identify and prioritize business improvements.
  • Lead development of dashboards and other systems in an agile environment.
  • Coordinate with various business and technical groups whose support is needed to build or deploy data warehouses/ applications/portals/dashboards.
  • Gather data from multiple sources to assimilate meaningful inputs for databases.
  • Produce executive and board level insights into the data indicating areas of improvement opportunity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of application policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist in data stewardship for areas of responsibility.
Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent degree in another field together with related experience.
Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a related Business Analysis or Business Intelligence role requiring Data Visualization, Dashboard creation, Process Improvement, and an understanding of all stages of information systems development.
  • Ability to provide examples of self-taught, complex skills relating to analytics.
  • A minimum of 3 years programming in complex technical environments - emphasis on health care - is desired.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with Oracle DBMS and SQL development tools is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with Tableau or similar tools is preferred.
  • Experience with Epic Data Model is desired.
