RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Accountant in Fort Lauderdale, FL.Summary:The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing trends, creating reports, and explaining variances to assist in month end financial statement preparation process.Essential Functions:

• Prepare month-end general ledger journal entries and reconciliations
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year end close
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Perform variances and general ledger account analysis
• Ability to document procedures and articulate issues as they arise
• Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
• Communicate/provide general ledger information to co-workers, personnel outside of the accounting department, and management as needed
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and address variances in a timely manner
• Coordination of accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team or with other departments
• Respond to internal and external audit requests and provide proper supporting documentation

REQUIREMENTS:

Independently identify, research, and resolve accounting issues specifically as they relate to the following areas:

• Inventory & Accrued Inventory Purchases
• Cash and bank reconciliations
• Personnel Costs and Payroll Liabilities
• Accruals
