The Senior Accountant prepares balance sheets, profit, loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

This is a hybrid opportunity with Mondays and Fridays being remote days and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays requiring attendance in the office.

What You Will Do (depending on assigned Hemisphere):

  • Maintain the Oracle Fixed Assets application for both Bureau and Group companies.
  • Distribute monthly Operating Reports to Bureau and Group operations personnel and assist them in reviewing and analyzing the results.
  • Prepare Bureau and Group consolidated balance sheets and income statements.
  • Load headcount into Hyperion for Bureau and Group.
  • Prepare and post journals and inter-company debit memos for Bureau and Group payroll entries.
  • Prepare account reconciliations as required, including inter-company reconciliations.
  • Prepare and enter journal transactions into the automated accounting system as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of the year-end audit schedules.
  • Day to day supervision of a team of accounting staff and may provide guidance to field accounts personnel and Hemisphere/country accounting staff in areas related to financial accounting matters.
  • Liaise and coordinate input from countries accounts personnel with accounting staff to ensure monthly" closing deadlines" are met to enable timely reporting of financial information.
  • Perform monthly intra-company eliminations and make corrections to respective automated accounting system where necessary.
  • May generate local currency and U.S. dollar financial reports from the automatic accounting system for distribution to various managers as appropriate depending on assigned hemisphere.
  • Research and explain variances from budgets on financial reports to users of financial information.
  • Perform Consolidated Ledger Revaluation and effects adjustments in the automatic accounting system.
  • Assist in budget development process. Perform budget reviews and provide commentaries for feedback to various managers as appropriate. Checking budgets for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Ongoing review, development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate year-end reporting requirements for audit. Assist in preparation work for field audits and answer auditors' queries on statutory and management accounts.
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Effective reporting skills so that complicated financial information can be presented in a user-friendly format.
  • Thorough knowledge of current business and accounting software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work extra hours as required.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
It Would Be Nice If You Had:

CPA preferred.

Reporting Relationships:

The incumbent reports directly to a Manager or Director level position or higher. This position does not have any direct reports.
