We are looking for a highly motivated and talented protein biochemist for the critical reagents group within biologics engineering (BE). The successful candidate will be a key player in providing high quality, well-characterized proteins to support biologics discovery initiatives across multiple therapeutic indications. They will be a trainable, well-organized, and highly productive scientist that can design and implement workflows efficiently while concurrently analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to multidisciplinary project teams. The candidate will also be responsible for implementing their expertise into an evolving platform that delivers high quality protein reagents across multiple therapy areas. Responsibilities

• Perform expression and purification (affinity-based, charge-based, size-based, etc.) of antibodies and other various protein formats when required at milligram scale to support antibody discovery, characterization, and pre-clinical validation of lead candidates.

• Implement workflows on either stand-alone and/or integrated purification platforms that apply automation (AKTA, Agilent, etc.).
• Perform biologics quality assessment applying a variety of techniques, such as CE-SDS, SEC-HPLC, endotoxin assay, immunoblot, etc.
• Proven ability to work independently, effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion to meet project deadlines.
• Collaborate and work with a diverse group of scientists across all therapeutic areas to ensure timely progress of research projects.
• Maintain complete and updated records in electronic lab notebook.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years or Master's degree with 1+ years of experience in Biologics production at Biotech/Pharma industry
• Extensive hands-on experience with transient mammalian expression methodologies and workflows (HEK293 and CHO) and purification of proteins using various techniques.
• Demonstrated proficiency with various modes of chromatography, including affinity, IEX, mixed mode, HIC, and SEC. Deep and current knowledge of resins, membranes and suppliers.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AKTA instrumentation. Experience with automation method development and execution is preferred.
• Strong protein characterization and QC skills including analytical SEC, CE-SDS, endotoxin assays, etc.
• Strong data management and tracking abilities.
• Proven ability to work independently, effectively plan and organize work activities, and prioritize task completion to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate and communicate across disciplines.
