Job Summary

The Scholarship Application Analyst will serve as both a functional and technical expert in the ongoing growth and evolution of the university's vended, automated scholarship matching software, BAM (Blackbaud Award Management), and the IU-created process for automated recruiting awards.

The analyst is the principal liaison to campuses and departments across the university that seek a sustainable alternative to their outdated paper-based processes and homegrown systems. The analyst will function in a consultant role to elicit requirements, train on the technical details of the product operation and configuration, and make recommendations on how the delivered functionality can be used to achieve desired outcomes. The analyst will guide the units in developing application and award cycle timelines, configuring scholarships within the system, developing testing plans, assigning and training reviewers, tracking awards, and working with departments until a sustainable operation in up and running. The analyst will also serve as the primary contact for trouble-shooting any user issues and/or problems that arise from use of the BAM software.

Additionally, the analyst will work with the Scholarship Application Administrator with routine tasks, running regular audits, developing/creating training materials and presentations, conducting training presentations, and providing support for departments fully integrated into the system as well as those onboarding into BAM. The analyst will also assist in documenting and evaluating updates and new functionality in BAM as well any changes to business processes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of work experience in higher education with responsibility for coordinating processes to award scholarships to deserving students that includes exposure to serving students directly.

Demonstrated technical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated strength in organizing complex data and note-taking/record-keeping. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Ability to demonstrate patience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and use of customary Excel formulas. Demonstrated attention to detail, foresight and diplomacy.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree. Exposure to a comprehensive student information system, preferably PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. The ideal candidate will have worked with an automated scholarship software platform. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of SQL, HTML, CSV files and formatting, and databases. Project management skills/experience.

The location of this position may vary due to working remotely, and can be located on any campus.
