This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performance development team that is transforming the customer and dealer experiences associated with purchasing GM products, including Electric Vehicles (EV's). The Finance function performs a critical cross-functional role in driving GM's business success including improving company financial performance, managing cash to fund major vehicle programs, and reporting results and managing investor perceptions. Global Finance IT provides innovative technology solutions to support these objectives. We deliver value at high speed through an intense Customer focus coupled with domain expertise and business savvy. We are innovative, dependable, reliable, and collaborative.

MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defining systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under deadlines
  • Responsible for implementing the designed solution meeting business needs and providing best practices experience in their area.
  • Responsible to manage solution scope within standard software capabilities to degree possible
  • Works closely with business to verify requirements are captured in the solution design
  • Works with other process leads to communicate cross functional requirements
  • Assist Business with Problem and Incident Management
  • Working closely with the SAP Development team to enhance or create custom enhancements, reports, and interfaces to solve business issues.
  • Troubleshooting SAP system technical and functional issues, coordinating issue resolution across appropriate teams in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supporting and improving existing functionality.
  • Heavy collaboration with key stakeholders in the US & south America, as well as with key business partners located across the globe.

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Strong hands on configuration experience in SAP FI/CO, AA & PS module with at least 5+ full lifecycle implementations in this space
  • Significant expertise in SAP and Solution Extension products (SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, SAP MDG, SAP A&D Dassian solution, etc.)
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into technical terms relevant to SAP
  • Strong understanding of transactional process flow in SAP
  • Hands- on SAP experience with
  • GL/AP/AR/AA/PS processes where interfaces are involved
  • Experience with SAP New G/L and parallel ledger approach
  • Experience in foreign currency valuation & customer / vendor reclassification
  • Strong on MM & SD integration with FI module
  • Experience with international sales/use tax, treasury/cash management, and intercompany processes
  • External Tax engine (e.g. SABRIX)
  • Controlling Module (CO Assessment / Distribution, COPA, Product costing)
  • Writing functional requirement documents using standard IDOC's, BAPI's available in SAP

Additional Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience is required
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as well as software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Iterative, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Proven communication skills in English, ability to work with business and design the business processes into SAP
  • Must have SAP finance modules experience
  • Experience with SAP integration across other modules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., PCF, Azure DevOps)
  • Ability to lead requirements and influence the design of repeatable and scalable processes.
  • Experience with SAP master data tools
  • 10 years of SAP experience preferred
  • Knowledge of in memory (HANA) databases

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Computer Science, MIS / CIS, or another STEM-related major preferred
