What's the role?

The Team:

We are Business & Solution Architects - a team of talented, hands-on geospatial data and technology experts. We enjoy interacting with customers, and we have a keen ability to understand and relate business imperatives to technology capabilities and solutions. In the absence of readily available information, we lead collaborations with other groups to find answers to complex customer challenges. Additionally, we support the HERE account teams working with customers and presenting to stakeholders at all levels.

The Role:

As a Sales Solutions Architect, you will work closely with the HERE Sales team and customers throughout the sales cycle to gather requirements, design, validate, and help implement solutions that solve variety of industry-specific location related business problems.

Your primarily focus is on supporting HERE Solution Partner and Inside Sales teams. HERE Partners serve many industries - from Transportation & Logistics to Media / AdTech, Retail, Consumer & Financial Services, and beyond. You'll also identify how HERE products & services can be integrated into the HERE customer offerings and then take ownership of all pre-sales technical activities in order to win new business.

You'll be responsible for the following:

  • Customer Engagement & Technical Discovery
    • Act as technical consultant to the customer and HERE Account Executives during presales activities
    • Lead technical discovery by identifying & documenting customer requirements and objectives.
  • Solutions:
    • Act as technical lead to design and present solutions based on the HERE Platform, Location Services, map content, and partner offerings
    • Develop proof-of-concept solutions using HERE technology components
  • Team Collaboration
    • Represent the voice of the customer, including requirements & competitive insights, across HERE organizations to justify product development & investment decisions
    • Partner with HERE teams to understand industry ecosystems and partner networks - to better inform solution options for our customers
  • Industry
    • Understand & articulate problem statements for strategic & solution partners
    • Create and contribute to solution briefs used as part of go-to-market sales efforts


Who are you?

You are an independent and quick learner comfortable working with minimal guardrails. You prefer to be hands-on with technology - developing proofs of concept, analyzing data, implementing APIs & services. You enjoy writing code as much as you enjoy interacting with customers to close a deal. You take time to truly understand customer and market imperatives (pain points) with a keen eye to connect problems to technology capabilities and solutions. In the absence of readily available information, you initiate collaboration with other groups to find your answers. You are comfortable working with customers and presenting to stakeholders at all levels. Working in a large organization while keeping an agile mindset appeals to you.

  • 3+ years experience in sales engineering or other customer-facing role (pre or post-sales)
  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or GIS
  • Proficiency with JavaScript and RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with database technologies (traditional RDBMS or NoSQL)
  • Experience with data architectures, cloud services technologies
  • Ability to interface at all levels in Product, Development, and Sales organizations; to manage up, down, and across effectively
  • Working knowledge of SW development principles (including CI/CD, DevOps; customer requirements)
