What we do:
  • Our specialized Mentally Ill/Chemically Addicted (MICA) Unit services, designed specifically for the dually diagnosed individual, are flexible to accommodate individuals with varying functional levels.
  • Holistic treatment provided in the inpatient unit at Samaritan Hospital includes initial stabilization of psychiatric problems and detoxification from substances. Extensive daily group therapy is complemented by the introduction of self-help groups (AA, NA, Rational Recovery, etc.) to assure ongoing support after discharge.
  • Deliver care, including assessing needs, planning and meetings the needs of patients in the MICA Unit
Responsibilities:
  • The Registered Professional Nurse has the responsibility and accountability to utilize the nursing process to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential problems of individuals or groups.
  • The Registered Professional Nurse works within and contributes to an environment where the St. Peter's Health Partners' mission is actualized, patient outcomes are achieved, and professional practice realized.

What you will need:
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or ability to obtain in 5 years from start date
  • BLS
  • Minimum of one year of experience in nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN)
