Overview

The Retail Buyer and Merchandiser works directly with the internal Brand & Sales teams in the conception, development and implementation of the event specific product plans/assortments. They will be play a critical role in ensuring that Key Performance Indicators are established and maintained with each of our clients. This individual will also work directly with NCAA Vendor Licensees on brand/product opportunities to complement our established in-house, vertical product assortment decisions . The primary responsibility of the Retail Buyer and Merchandiser is to develop unique , volume and inventory sensitive product assortments for 850+ NCAA Championship events , ranging from retail sales of $1,000 to $2,000,000. These product assortments should meet or exceed Event One's top line sales, margin and inventory goals. This individual will be the key driver behind e-commerce business opportunities, they will help in the development of merchandise assortments and web base sales platform. Along with building the assortments, this individual will be the lead individual in developing and directing floor/space plans and on-site presentation/merchandising plans . The individual will also support the Event 1 team with on-site event management , including key event set-up/teardown , staff support , and the overall E1 commitment to delivering a successful , positive athlete and fan experience . Lastly they are expected to establish and foster communication directly with clients and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Develop product assortments at the brand and category level for Championship Events (i.e. NCAA Championships), while continuing to evaluate retail space productivity
• Ensure Key Performance Indicators are established and maintained
• Buy products from other apparel / novelty vendors for the Championship Events to help round out overall assortment
• Help optimize sales and profits by ensuring our retail space and online business with the right products and quantities.
• Develop product assortments for event brick n mortar and web selling environments
• Provide reporting and performance analysis after each event season with respect to product assortments
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal business leads and outside vendors
• Designs & implements custom floor plans for each major championship event (i.e. Men's / Women's Final Four or Men's / Women's College World Series)
• Designs, implements and executes effective merchandising strategies and capacity plan for each unique championship event.
• Directs, assist, move and position store fixtures & merchandise at championship events
• Merchandises the shop at final at all major championship events
• Works with the Alternative, Champion, GEAR / Comfort Wash and Under Armour brand teams to determine the best assortment for each level of championship events.
• Assist in development of new business opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent years of comparable experience
• 4-6 years of experience in demand planning. OTB management and visual merchandising
• Solid decision-making skills with the ability to influence others
• Collegiate apparel buying experience / Event apparel buying experience recommended
• E-commerce background is preferred (i.e. item set up / assortment buying / marketing / etc.)
• 4-6 years retail merchandise buying experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, as well as AutoCAD or similar 3D modeling software.
• Substantial travel is required. Travel may be in conjunction w/ a Brand or Sales team member.
