GENERALSUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Talkowski laboratory in the Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM) at MassachusettsGeneral Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute isseeking exceptional postdoctoral candidates in computational biology, bioinformatics, and/or statistical genetics. We are seeking a candidate toperform genomics research across a spectrum of population genetics, diseaseassociation, and functional genomics studies. Successful candidates areexpected to excel at critical thinking, be quick learners for new analyticalapproaches, and capable of applying or developing novel computational methodsfor solving complex problems.

The Talkowski Lab is comprised of an interdisciplinarygroup of scientists, bioinformaticians, computational biologists, andpostdoctoral fellows who work together in a mutually supportive and respectfulenvironment. Ideas are freely shared, and contributions are highly valued. Weare dedicated to the characterization of genomic variation contributing tohuman disease, with a focus on the relationship between genome structure andfunction. The labintegrates molecular and computational genomics methods to investigate thegenetic architecture of neuropsychiatric disorders, as well as to develop newtechnologies for translational applications in genetic diagnostics. The lab hasrepresented a hub of novel gene and variant discovery and functional genomicsmodeling in common complex and rare Mendelian disorders.

Candidatesmust have a doctoral degree (PhD or MD), an excellent publication record, andgreat communication skills. A strong background in computerscience and/or mathematics is required; and specifically, experience withanalyzing high-dimensional datasets is preferred. Somefluency with biology and/or neuroscience is ideal, as is the ability to adaptquickly to a cross-functional team in a rapidly changing environment.

The candidate will be appointed as a ResearchFellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Post-Doc at the Harvard MedicalSchool, and Associated Scientist at the Broad Institute. Beinga member of our team will provide the opportunity for your contributions to beutilized and recognized across the vast global network of researchers in thefields of genomics and psychiatric disease research.Candidates will also requireexcellent interpersonal skills to work in a highly collaborative environmentacross institutions. Visa sponsorship is available for Postdoctoral Fellows.

Interested applicants should submittheir cover letter, CV, and contacts for references to:
