You will join a diverse team of professionals dedicated to studying digital learning, educational innovation, and addressing challenges in the 21st century classroom and beyond.

This is a full-time, 12-month position with an appointment period of 2 years that reports to the EDLI Co-Director team. Successful candidates will work with the cross-disciplinary core EDLI team, consisting of members of the College of Arts & Letters, College of Natural Science, Broad College of Business, MSU Information Technology, and MSU Libraries. They will work with the team to conduct research within EDLI's focal research areas, and to support and promote EDLI's work on the MSU campus and beyond. Example focal research areas include (but are not limited to) augmented/virtual/mixed reality, multimodal/hyflex teaching and learning, microcredentialing, course objective mapping, ethical use of artificial intelligence in learning contexts, and promoting student success in large classrooms.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with EDLI team members to design, implement, and evaluate research projects focused on digital teaching and learning
  • Lead or co-lead research teams in one or more research areas
  • Collaborate with other team members as part of research teams
  • Assist faculty members with classroom research projects and interventions
  • Document successful classroom implementation of research themes for adoption on campus and publication and / or presentation more broadly.
  • Collaborate with the MSU Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation to deploy successful EDLI projects across campus.

The EDLI Team and Michigan State University promote an academic and organizational culture that actively seeks out and strengthens diverse voices and perspectives among its members to achieve excellence. We are interested in candidates of all backgrounds who are committed to the principle that intellectual leadership is achieved through open access and proactive inclusion. We seek candidates with integrity and a strong work ethic, who possess an understanding of what it takes to continuously improve and maintain research projects within a major academic research institution.

We are looking for candidates who have an interest in contributing to the mission of EDLI and a drive to learn new knowledge and skills through engaging with an interdisciplinary team of EDLI members and collaborators. Therefore, we welcome candidates across different academic disciplines to consider applying. We invite you to apply even if you have not currently mastered all of the skills listed. We seek someone with the ability to collaborate and to expand their skill set in creative ways; we're happy to discuss whether you've got the skills we need for this role.
