About the Department

Dr. Arshiya Baig and her team are leading two NIH funded studies with health systems and health centers across Chicago and the Midwest to improve care for adults living with diabetes. The study team is implementing virtual group visits and diabetes distress screening as part of these studies. The team is working with health center and clinical staff to implement and evaluate these programs.

Job Summary

The Research Assistant will work under the direction of Dr. Arshiya Baig within the Section of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Entering and checking data.
  • Managing data files; communicating with health center and research staff.
  • Coordinating training sessions; tracking project activities; providing general administrative support.
  • Literature reviews; development of study instruments; programming databases; preparing presentations; supporting students on research projects.
  • Collects and enters data. Assists in analysis of data and with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
  • Complies with institution, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the research being conducted.

Experience:
  • Experience working in health care, social service, or low-income community setting.
