This position directly reports to the Operations Supervisor. The Rehab Department Secretary, under supervision, provides administrative support to health care providers in a high-volume ambulatory setting, functioning as the primary interface between the patient and the providers.

The emphasis is placed on the ability to:

  • Organize priorities and complete tasks.
  • Adhere to HIPPA policies and be able to manage confidential patient information.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Register new patients.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and triage as appropriately.
  • Be able and willing to complete all clerical tasks as required.
  • Work with our clinicians and other team members to insure timely flow of patient information.
  • Assist in opening and end of day procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Act as a liaison between departments - This person understands their position is an important part of the care team in the Patient Centered Medical Practice and promotes partnership between patients, family and team.


Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or college course work preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Electronic Medical Record Experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
