The Registered Nurse promotes the health and well-being of each resident by providing accurate nursing assessments based on change in conditions, along with nursing oversight and delegation, while educating staff on the proper medication management of each resident. A strong attention to detail is necessary for maintaining the quality of care that the residents expect and deserve. We take pride in how our communities serve our residents. Responsibilities:

  • Help to educate, and train staff members in Nurse Delegated Tasks
  • Monitor change in condition of residents, conducting periodic re-assessments of resident's health needs.
  • Review communications between Medication Aides and Resident's Physicians.
  • Assure orders are accurate and that all treatment is appropriate.
  • Delegate and/or assign routine tasks as allowed by State Regulations.

The Registered Nurse traditionally works Monday through Friday regular business hours. There is some flexibility in scheduled hours, with availability by phone. At Gibson Creek, a Part time RN is eligible for the same benefits as a Full Time RN.

Qualifications:
  • Have the ability to communicate well, both written and orally.
  • Relate to individuals from a variety of diverse ethnic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
  • Follow the State mandated guidelines for medication management and community-based care.
  • Monitor and keep accurate records.
  • Have an ongoing understanding of common medications; ie: dosage, actions, and side effects.
  • Be a Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing with the state of Oregon.
