Description:
Utilized current nursing practices to provide patient/employee care while focusing on the needs of the patient/employee and exemplifying the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect and cooperation. As a contributing member of a health team, functions in the role of patient advocate by being in the position of initial contact for patient-related issues.
Responsible for the daily operations of the Employee Health services to ensure alignment with the organizational outcome performance and safety goals. Assist with pre-employment physicals, mandated annual vaccinations to include education, workplace health & safety, triage process, and follow up of workplace injuries to ensure protocols, case management, policies and health promotion programs and guidelines meet all state and federal regulations. Evaluates worker injury reports to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as appropriate care coordination to ensure confidential investigation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Communication - Performs required documentation and communicates in a competent and effective manner to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements. Protects confidentiality of patient's Personal Health Information (PHI).

Quality Improvement - Utilized time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes. Participates in site-specific and division quality projects and initiatives. Serves as a clinical expert by reporting patient related issues and concerns directly to the manager and medical director. Assumes an active role in maintaining site preparedness and compliance with guidelines and standards as defined by regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, IDPH)

Triage - Handles nurse-directed telephone calls from patients and seeks appropriate input and direction from Medical Director or functions from signed protocols if applicable.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Required: Bachelors Degree

Specify Degree: Nursing

Minimum experience:

Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience (preferably in Employee or Occupational Health)

Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job related experience (preferable in Employee or Occupational Health)

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: Basic Life Support (CPR)

Nursing

Other: Specialty certification - COHN, preferred

Computer Skills: Required:

Microsoft Outlook, Teams

Excel, Power Point

Preferred: Kronos, Epic

Required Skills:

Ability to communicate verbally

Ability to deal calmly and courteously with people

Ability to deal with stressful situations

Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures

Ability to function independently and manage own time and work tasks

Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency

Ability to organize workflow

Ability to work as an effective team member

Other: Ability to articulate the scope of practice and appropriate delegation of nursing tasks per the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act.
