Job Summary/Basic Function:
Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
Level Scope:
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employee.
Essential Functions:
70 % of time-Direct Patient Care Delivery:

  • Provide RN level of patient care to acute and chronically ill and injured patients
  • Serve as a clinical resource for issues related to nursing care
  • Arrange/ schedule referrals as instructed
  • Prepare for and assist clinicians with medical procedures
  • Implement orders for treatment and medication as issued by an authorized provider
  • Provide patient education, resources in person or over the phone at the RN level
  • Collect and process off site medical laboratory samples
  • Collect, process and interpret on site laboratory samples
  • Process medication fills and refills
  • Administer oral, injectable, inhaled and specified IV medications
  • Place and maintain intravenous lines
  • Participate in patient immunization clinic
  • Participate in patient allergy injection clinic
  • Provide first level triage for specific patients presenting to or calling the clinic
10 percent of the time- Charge Nurse Duties:
  • Serve as Charge Nurse for the clinic staff on a day to day rotating basis within the framework of the established schedule, assure adequate staffing coverage for day to day clinic needs and fluctuations
  • Monitor patient flow, anticipating space and resources needed
  • Mentor new members of the clinical RN/LPN/MA staff as assigned
  • Participate in clinical skills lab and proficiency testing
20 percent of the time- Clinic Operations Administrative Support:
  • Work with outside vendors: Medical Supplies, Equipment Maintenance, Dispensary and clinic medications, Laboratory
  • Nonclinical duties as assigned, such as, autoclaving, supply tracking, etc
  • Assure CLIA-waived lab processes maintained through completion of proficiency testing
  • Other duties and involvement as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Registered Nurse level clinical competence in a primary care setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, patient scheduling, staff scheduling
  • Charge nurse experience
  • Successful completion of an accredited RN program
  • Current State of Idaho RN licensure in good standing
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar setting
  • Solid knowledge of back-office clinic operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent clinical skills within the RN scope of practice
  • The ability to hold information in confidence
  • A focus on patient centered care and satisfaction
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security laws
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing with at least 1 year experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with at least 3 years experience. Required Application Materials:
