Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Recruiting Manager is responsible for achieving strategic recruiting initiatives by aligning resources with staffing forecasts and identifying exceptional talent. The Recruiting Manager collaborates with hiring managers to ensure adequate resource planning with a focus on delivering quality candidates according to company timelines. This role is responsible for direct management of the full-time and seasonal recruiting team. This role is also responsible for creating and managing metrics and reporting to support company recruiting initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hire, train, coach, and review the recruiting team members, ensuring they represent Reddy Ice at the highest level while meeting strategic recruiting initiatives.

  • Responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process for all positions, including high volume non-exempt and executive level roles.

  • Manage and execute resource planning and budgeting with senior leaders.

  • Create and train hiring managers on interview best practices and guides.

  • Work directly with hiring managers to collect relevant position information; recommend changes to job descriptions.

  • Advise managers on proper interviewing methods.

  • Identify and execute sourcing strategies to target hard-to-fill positions and ensure hiring skilled talent within the targeted timelines.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of leadership within the organization to create partnerships that yield success and credibility.

  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.

  • Create, report, and take appropriate action on recruiting metrics and scorecard daily, weekly or as needed, including time-to-fill, cost-to-fill, and other talent acquisition metrics. Ensure that requisitions are correctly managed within Workday.

  • Manage and leverage recruiting technology, sourcing methods, and other resources to increase candidate pools, provide scalability, timely information, and ensure consistency.

  • Build and maintain relationships and negotiate contracts with vendor and campus recruiting partners.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department on employment branding and materials. Manage posting and marketing needs for recruiting efforts including the Reddy Ice website, job boards, professional organizations and other appropriate venues. Manage the budget associated with online recruitment advertising.

  • Assess sourcing methods and recruitment practices regularly and make recommendations for continuous process improvement.

  • Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

External: Vendors, campus recruiting staff, and applicants

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for managing the Lead Recruiter, Seasonal Recruiters and Candidate Sourcing Coordinators.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum seven (7) years HR/recruiting experience
  • Experience with Workday preferred but not required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous management of a recruiting team
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel as a reporting tool including pivot tables and v/x-lookups
  • Strong communication skills and professional presentation
  • Organized and structured with a solid level of accomplishment
  • Possess a solid understanding of recruiting marketing strategies and technology

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position primarily works in a typical office environment, is generally sedentary, and uses computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment. This position has limited travel to field locations, where the employee will be required to walk and stand in manufacturing plants, including freezers. Travel for campuses, job fairs, and other recruiting events may also be required. A valid drivers license and acceptable MVR are required. Work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships and reason through complex business situations is essential.
