Basic Job Functions:

  • Work with managers to create and update job descriptions including requirements
  • Post open requisitions in HRIS system, on company website, Handshake, LinkedIn, social media outlets and other external sources
  • Assist in creating recruiting strategy and manage campaigns to target and filter appropriate job applicants
  • Screen applications and resumes to assess candidates and move through the interview and hiring process
  • Participate in recruitment events, including career fairs and college recruiting events
  • Assist in the development of college relationships creating opportunities for our teammates to spend time with student groups on campus
  • Promotion of recruiting efforts and company culture on social media
  • Schedule and conduct pre-screening interviews and make hiring suggestions to the hiring team
  • Maintain interview, hiring and payroll records
  • Assist in compiling and managing recruitment metrics
  • Extend job offers, coordinate and assemble onboarding documents and deliver new hire orientations
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time during high-volume seasons (fall & spring)
  • Other duties as assigned

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma and equivalent full-time recruiting experience (min 4 years)
  • Understanding of social media platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field
  • PHR or HRCI certification
  • 2+ years of administrative HR experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Teams
  • Working knowledge of Handshake, Success Factors ATS, eVerify, Accurate & Edge systems
  • Strong communication skills & ability to work independently to drive processes
  • Excellent organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and prioritization skills
